The EDDY tip oscillates at a frequency of 5,000–6,000 Hz, activates the disinfectant solution and enables efficient chemical disinfection of side canals, apical ramifications and isthmi due to the oscillating 3-D movements. The flexible tip made of soft polyamide adapts itself to the canal anatomy without the risk of creating ledges or perforations. Several studies show that EDDY removed bacterial biofilm in complex root canal anatomies just as effectively as passive ultrasonic irrigation.
EDDY can easily be integrated into daily practice, as no documentation for the number of usages is needed. The tip is also compatible with a variety of airscalers.
The list of all compatible airscaler can be found here.
For the use of EDDY, set the frequency of your air scaler to the maximum performance level, whereby the upper limit of 6000 Hz must not be exceeded (air supply at a maximum of 0.3 MPa (3 bars)).
“EDDY irrigates the canal clean and is aggressive on biofilm but gentle on the tooth with no danger of ledges or perforations.”
“If you compare the activation of irrigants with EDDY to other activation techniques, it is evident that EDDY triggers a cyclone.”

“After just a few seconds of using EDDY, there is no debris visible on the entire root canal wall and NaOCl seems to work better.”
